Former Eastleigh South UDA aspirant Abdikarim Hassan has come out to condemn a section of Muslim leaders led by Sheikh Juma Ngao for politicizing the religion.

Speaking at the Azimio organized prayer cum political rally in Nairobi on Wednesday, Sheikh Ngao accused the Ruto administration of sidelining the Muslim community in the issuance of hustler fund by introducing interest on the fund.

Focusing his message on certain Islamic teachings, Sheikh Ngao attacked the Kenya Kwanza administration over what he termed as oppression and lies against Kenyans and endorsed Raila Odinga and his 2022 running mate Hon. Martha Karua for the presidency.

Hon. Abdikarim Hassan warned that the move by the religious leaders will be interpreted as revolting against the duly Kenya Kwanza elected government and urged other Muslim faithfuls to not be misled by the likes of Sheikh Juma Ngao.

Hassan further urged the faction of Muslim clerics at the prayer rally to disassociate the religion from political discourse as matters of faith cannot be politicized to fit a certain agenda.

The Wednesday Azimio led prayers in Nairobi CBD come just days after the government conducted national prayers at the Nyayo National stadium to pray for rain after a long period of devastating drought.
