Gunmen have attacked and killed 28 worshippers in a church in Ondo State, Nigeria
According to eye witnesses, the armed men stormed the st Francis Catholic church in Owa-luwa street, Owo kingdom setting off explosives before indiscriminately shooting at the worshippers.

Among those killed include children while scores others are nursing serious gunshot wounds.
The terrified church goers tried seeking shelter under the benches as the shots filled the air.
The terrorists also kidnapped the presiding priest and other congregants before taking off.
The Pope is among notable leaders who joined the president of Nigeria and British ambassador in condemning the attack.
The Pope has learned of the attack in Ondo, Nigeria and the deaths of dozens of worshippers including children and prays for the victims and the country,” read the statement from Vatican.
The UK high commissioner to Nigeria Catriona Laing reacted to the attack in a tweet.
“Terrible news today from Ondo state, I condemn those responsible for this horrible crime, I extend my sympathies to all those affected,” read Laing’s tweet.
The country’s president Buhari has promised to take action by ordering security agencies to apprehend those involved.
Nigeria has been rocked by bandit attacks and killing over the last few week with a spike in kidnappings.
