Robert Alai in trouble after Kileleshwa residents term him unknown stranger vying on ODM ticket

Residents of Kileleshwa ward have for two weeks now faulted the ODM party for fraudulently issuing the nomination certificate to one Robert Alai.

Speaking to the press, the residents described Alai as an ‘unknown stranger’ to them who short-changed Junior Tollo, a well known preferred candidate.

The blogger, Alai entered the race for Kileleshwa ward after being rejected from vying as Nyando MP and Lang’ata MP seats, both of which attracted stronger candidates.

Alai shocked many when he announced his bid for Kileleshwa ward after campaigning for the Nyando seat for over a year andef later trying to enter the Lang’ata race but was overpowered by popular commedian Jalang’o.

Robert Alai entered has been on the headlines over the last year for his run-ins with the law.

In 2019, Alai was arrested for publishing graphic pictures of dead Kenyan police after a terrorist attack.

In a statement, then police spokesman Charles Owino joined NCIC in condemning the act terming it ‘unfortunate and unfeeling of our fallen heroes’.
