Comedian Jasper Muthomi popularly known as MC Jessy has ditched the William Ruto led UDA party and is set to runas an independent candidate in the forthcoming general elections.

The south Imenti constituency parliamentary hopeful has also shelved the proposition to join the presidential campaign secretariat for DP William Ruto.

Jessy had been convinced by Ruto to shelf his ambition in favour of Mwiti Kathaara in the South Imenti race, this loosing the party ticket.
In the announcement made by DP Ruto five days ago, the longtime comedian had agreed to join Ruto’s presidential campaign team at in undisclosed capacity.

Through his social media pages today however, MC Jessy made the shocking announcement of his comeback in the race openly defying his boss.

Jessy joins a handful of other candidates who will now vie as independents following tough nomination exercises across the country.
