The security personnel are alleged to be drawn from different police stations in the area including Kainuk police station and Kakong police station.

The assault on the cows saw 97 cattle killed on the spot while more than 37 succumbed later due to the injuries.

The incident has attracted widespread condemnation over the senseless loss of property for the community that highly depends on livestock.

Mr. Puraita Tungodiro and Mr. Nyakori Lokamar are both counting huge losses after losing 47 and 50 cattle respectively in the assault.

The incident that led to the shooting of the cows is yet to be established even as relevant authorities act on the matter.

Insecurity in the region has been on the rife pitting security personnel against bandits.

The bandits have been responsible for massive loss of lives and property in the larger rift valley region giving security apparatus a hard time in the region.
